The Connecticut Humane Society, located in Newington, is seeking a Shelter Veterinarian. This position will help fulfill our mission by providing surgical and medical care to shelter animals. This position will perform high-volume, high-quality spay/neuter surgeries, as well as handle additional surgical procedures including, but not limited, to: cystotomy, growth removal, and basic orthopedics. This position will also help to ensure that staff are following herd health protocols and proper sanitation practices. This position will help to provide medical and surgical coverage in the other shelters or the clinic. This position is perfect for a veterinarian that likes to work in a fast paced, every changing environment.

Degree in veterinary medicine from an accredited school of veterinary medicine. Current license to practice in the state of Connecticut or the ability to obtain a license to practice in Connecticut. At least two to three years’ experience working in shelter or high volume spay/neuter clinic.Some travel required. Proficiency in on-line medical records a plus.
