The University of California-Davis Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital (http://www.vetmed.ucdavis.edu/vmth/small_animal/index.cfm) is seeking a board-certified equine Internal Medicine veterinarian to join our Equine Medicine Service in a contract staff veterinarian position. Join our team of world-class specialists in this academic practice with a busy tertiary-level caseload, and contribute to the diagnosis and care of patients with a wide variety of conditions. The UCD VMTH offers full advanced diagnostic imaging capabilities, a first-rate ICU, intensity-modulated radiotherapy and stereotactic radiosurgery, an on-site nutrition service, and an integrative medicine service. Our Medicine Service team is active in a variety of cutting-edge endeavors and fosters strong teamwork with our radiology, anesthesia, critical care, internal medicine, oncology, and surgery. Responsibilities will include providing instruction and supervision of DVM students and residents on a daily basis in equine internal medicine and equine primary care medicine; providing clinical input and feedback on clinical cases to students, residents and clients while ensuring excellent referring veterinarian and client communications on clinical cases; and overseeing resident and student communications with referring veterinarians and clients and coordinating with other clinical services for clinical cases.
The initial contract will be through June 30th, 2018 and may be renewed annually up to two additional years.
