We are a fun loving bunch that pride ourselves on top notch medicine with state of the art equipment and facilities. We are a new emergency service but will be servicing a significant portion of eastern Ohio. The fees are competitive allowing clients to afford emergency care for their pets.
We provide the same standard and quality medicine we all learned about in college. Our clients know this and they come to us because of our reputation for excellence, exceptional client communication with expert and compassionate care of their pets. We have a full in-house lab, ultrasound, dental machines, digital radiology equipment (dental and regular), laser therapy has recently been added to our protocols, 2 large surgery suites, isolation room, large treatment area, numerous computerized technology equipment, 3 ICU units and critical care cages, with facility to house up to 34 patients.
Salary: I believe in paying a decent wage, $85,000 annually with a $5000.00 sign on bonus outside of an academic environment, specialty practice or a large city. I provide excellent benefits include 2 weeks paid time off, paid sick leave up to 3 days per year, paid CE (lodging and travel expenses are included), and licensing fees, 100% reimbursement of individual’s health insurance premiums, and 100% paid liability/malpractice insurance. Note on salaries to any new grads that are reading this, the practice is in a small town so the cost of living here is much lower than larger towns and cities allowing you to pay your student loans as well as your everyday bills.
Mentoring and additional training is provided for all aspects of veterinary medicine including surgery, internal medicine, preventative medicine, client communication, radiography, ultrasound, and lab interpretation and more. If you are looking for a practice that provides excellent medicine, provides you the tools to do it, and cares about it's employees, then you’ll want to work here.
Sense of Humor required. Ability to work some weekends (not all) and provide quality medicine. With Mentoring and additional training for new grads, candidate will be able to manage small animal preventative care, surgery cases, internal medicine cases and daytime emergency cases. Surgery and emergency skills are taught or mentored. We want everyone to get their days off and PTO so, we ask all employees to also be flexibility for scheduling.
We are a High Tech practice so computer skills are absolutely required. Good communication skills and excellent "bedside manner". Ability to work with a team to provide quality medicine. Ability to learn and take directions from experienced veterinarians and staff. Leadership skills needed to direct staff in a positive manner. Although we have very experienced vet techs that do the majority of the nursing care, we have recently learned that many new grads want to learn many of the vet tech skills which we gladly teach. You are not required to perform technician duties, but you are required to work as a team to accomplish patient treatment or diagnostics if they are swamped.
3 openings. Employer will assist with relocation costs.
Additional Salary Information: $5000 sign on bonus/relocation bonus. Excellent benefits including paid time off, paid CE, licensing fees, copay on health insurance, liability/malpractice insurance 100% paid, and more. Because we are not able to obtain competitive prices on health insurance, individuals must obtain their own health insurance and we reimburse 100% of the premiums.

About Adamson Veterinary Services
We are a progressive, growing, multi-doctor hybrid practice that believes in using education, skills, and great technology to provide the human quality medicine to dogs and cats. We try to provide quality medicine for our patients while tailoring it to the client's needs and income. As a hybrid practice we provide medical care that combines general practice and emergency care. We don’t just provide routine care, but more advance care as well. I describe it as providing services that fall between a general practice and a specialty practice. In March we opened a weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday) after hour emergency room with staff 24 hours. The hospital is a large modern and fully equipped 9,000 sq ft medical facility that has recently been renovated to create a calm and fear free environment (pictures are on our website adamsonveterinaryservices.com). We have a full in-house lab, ultrasound, dental machines, digital x-ray machine electro-cautery unit, 2 large surgery suites, multiple full parameter monitors and anesthesia machines, isolation room, portable oxygen cage, Snyder ICU machine, 2 ICU isolettes, with facility to house up to 34 sick patients. We have a la...rge waiting room split into two sections to divide dogs and cats. We are open 7 days a week with doctors rotating weekends. The average work week is 40 - 45 hours per week.
Community profile: Although Salem is a small town, it has a lot to recommend it. There are several large metropolitan areas (Youngstown, Akron, Canton, Cleveland and Pittsburg) within minutes of Salem. There are small manufacturing companies and smaller service companies provide jobs for the area residents. Lordstown GM plant and Delphi are within 20 minutes for additional jobs for area residents. The downtown is an active and viable environment with friendly and helpful business people. There are a lot of community activities for individuals as well as families. There is a country club with a golf course, a community center with gym facilities and pool, and several small local lakes for boating and fishing. Parks and hiking facilities are close by. The grade school and secondary schools are excellent for those individuals interested in them for children. Kent State community college has a branch just outside Salem for more advanced studies. Universities are close by. Cars and trucks are a big thing in our area and we have several community activities associated with them. Quaker Raceway is just outside town for the car enthusiast. Major sports arenas are within an hour. Major highways to all parts of the country within minutes of Salem. We may be a small community, but we have much to offer.
