The National Aquarium, Domino Sugar, Maryland blue crabs, sailing, hiking, the Orioles and the Ravens…..the only thing we are missing in Baltimore is YOU!
We have three criticalists on staff at Pet+E.R. (in Towson and Columbia, MD) who are ready to teach, train and lead a group of three interns through an ECC internship. Pet+E.R. has availability for three interns to join our team and learn everything there is to know about ECC medicine, under the guidance of our team of criticalists. Our successful internship program has led to previous interns securing residencies in anesthesia, dermatology and ECC!
What makes us different, you ask?
Our interns are trained to perform emergency surgery. While we do share our building with a surgical practice, our staff doctors often perform emergency procedures that cannot wait for a surgical consult. We teach our interns how to identify these cases and cut when necessary.
Our interns are not thrown to the wolves; they do not work alone until the last quarter of their internships. They are supported and mentored by career emergency veterinarians and the criticalist team to assist in their clinical and client service development.
All of our staff members, including staff doctors and interns, are certified in basic and advanced life support via the eCornell online course. Our Towson facility is level II VECCS-certified and excellent knowledge of CPR procedures is a major tenet of our medical standard. We support our interns in learning and perfecting their technique.
We’re willing to take a new grad! Of our three available internship slots, we will consider one new veterinary school graduate.
Pet+E.R.'s two hospitals are a 24-hour emergency and critical care practices that are co-located in state-of-the-art facilities with several specialty practices, which gives our interns unique opportunities to learn and develop a well-rounded standard of care. Collaboration with the specialty veterinarians is encouraged and expected in order to provide the best quality of care for our patients. Both hospitals are busy and diverse in caseload. We encourage growth and development, offering CE stipends and time off and offer an excellent benefits package, including employee pet wellness and discounts.
