Type & Experience Level:
Part Time or Full Time - Any experience level considered
DVM or equivalent
The Burnt Mill Veterinary Center seeks an associate veterinarian to join our mixed practice in south-central Pennsylvania. Established in Shippensburg in 1974, we have an excellent staff and 3rd generation clientele. The practice is located 15 minutes from Shippensburg University and 2 hours away from Pennsylvania State University, with a cost of living that is substantially lower than neighboring cities.
The current caseload is 60% general small animal medicine and 40% large animal. The routine large animal work primarily consists of 50-100 cow dairy herd checks, along with seasonal equine vaccination and dentistry. We also serve some beef, small ruminants, and swine. We have the tools and large animal facility to support this work, and a specialist network available for referral. On the small animal side there is growing demand for house calls, as well as opportunity to expand the exotics and add orthopedic services.
Preference will be given to an experienced mixed-animal practitioner who desires a full-time position with eventual buy-in. That said, small animal veterinarians, new/recent graduates, and part time applicants will all be given serious consideration. Finding the “right fit” amongst clientele and team members is most important to us. We also want to develop a long-term relationship that benefits both the practice and the successful applicant’s career in whatever form that brings.
The compensation package will be based on the applicant’s qualifications and proposed duties. Please apply online or call 717-423-6536 to discuss this opportunity with Dr. Ben Rhodes in more detail.
