Nashville Veterinary Specialists has immediate openings for Veterinary Technicians. We are a well established and growing 24-hour Emergency and Specialty Veterinary Practice, and have added numerous positions due to our growth. The positions are:
Cardiology Technician – Licensed Veterinary Technicians Only
The Cardiology Technician serves as the primary technician to the Cardiologist. They work to assist the Cardiologist in their daily duties as well as carrying out their treatment and diagnostic plans. Required technical skills include: * Phlebotomy and catheterization skills * Patient restraint and handling skills * Anesthesia trained * Required to participate in weekend anesthesia on-call, rotating every 6-8 weeks * Patient radiograph skills – positioning and technique * Understanding of medical terminology * Pharmacology and medication administration skills * Doctor assistant/anticipation skills – echocardiography, cardiology diagnostics and studies, patient exams, etc. * Good working knowledge of ECG and equipment associated with cardiology
Neurology Technician – Licensed Veterinary Technicians Only
The Neurology Technician serves as the primary technician to the Neurologist. They work to assist the Neurologist in their daily duties as well as carrying out their treatment and diagnostic and surgery plans. Neurological disease can be difficult for clients to understand. Compassion, patience, professionalism, and kindness to all clients, whether in person or on the phone is a must. Required technical skills include: * Phlebotomy and catheterization skills * Patient restraint and handling skills * Anesthesia trained, monitor all aspects including EKG, SPO2, Doppler and recover a patient from anesthesia * Required to participate in weekend anesthesia on-call, rotating every 6-8 weeks * Patient radiograph skills – positioning and technique * Understanding of medical terminology * Pharmacology and medication administration skills * Good working knowledge of Neurology and equipment associated with Neurology * Expected to train and learn how to run MRI
ICU and Emergency Technicians – Licensed Veterinary Technicians Preferred, however experience may be substituted for Licensure
Must have strong skillset in customer service, veterinary medical knowledge base, veterinary nursing care and exemplary attention to detail. Must have basic understanding of disease processes, pharmacology and patient treatments in which our cases are referred and hospitalized for.
