One full time emergency veterinarian needed. Positions open immediately. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about emergency medicine and critical care. We will consider individuals seeking part time or full time scheduling. Yakima Pet Emergency is a non-corporate practice that provides high quality medical care and exceptional client service. Internship or Board Certification is not necessary, but a minimum of 1 year in dedicated emergency practice is preferred, or significant emergency experience within a day practice. We will consider a new graduate with strong interest in emergency and critical care, and will provide mentorship.
Candidate must possess a positive team-oriented attitude, strong triage ability, excellent communication skills, & value modern, high quality, compassionate medical care. Strong diagnostic and soft tissue surgical skills are a must. Intermediate level or higher training in ultrasonography also desirable but on the job training will be provided and CE opportunities can be provided.
We see an exciting, variable case load from standard outpatient ER to longer term ICU patients. Ample opportunity to manage complex internal medicine and trauma patients, and to perform a variety of soft tissue surgical procedures.
Flexible scheduling allows for ample time off. Scheduling is typically done in an equal rotation sharing day/night and weekend/weeknight shifts, each veterinarian has continuous blocks of time off each week. Doctors are scheduled individually per shift with multiple strong support staff members.
At least 1 year in dedicated emergency practice, or general clinician with strong history of emergency "on-call" experience as part of their work history is preferred, although we will consider a new graduate with good clinical confidence and externship or previous work experience in emergency hospital settings. Ability to work overnight, holiday and day shifts on rotation. A minimum 10 shifts per month for full time equivalent benefits.
Strong triage, soft tissue surgical and interpersonal communication skills are important.
Additional Salary Information: $10,000 Hiring bonus offered, negotiable based on part/full time. Moving expense assistance negotiable.
Veterinarians are paid on shift pay basis or production basis, whichever is greater for each shift worked. CE, medical, dental, vision and investment benefits are offered in addition to the listed annual average salary. We provide licensing, AVMA, IVECCS and VIN membership, liability insurance, and uniform stipends also.

We are a busy, small animal emergency and critical care practice in Yakima Washington. Our referral area is large and is growing, we are the only emergency practice in a 1.5-2 hr radius. Practice is open 5 nights/week and 24 hours every weekend and major holidays. We need to expand our hours to 24 hrs/day 7 days/week to meet business demands.
