Office Manager Needed for My Zoo Animal Hospital, Columbia, MO

Dr. Debbie Leach, of the My Zoo Animal Hospital located in historic and scenic Boone County, Missouri is seeking an additional Office Manager to join her progressive and growing full-service small animal & exotics practice. The ideal candidate will be an experience Office Manager, with a strong interest in achieving CVPM certification in the near future.
We are looking for a candidate with strong leadership qualities, the ability to work independently and the desire to help refine our team's potential. Proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel is required and experience with AVImark software is highly valued.
At least 2 years of veterinary management experience is preferred, as is a degree in a business related field. The ideal candidate will be CVPM eligible, or working towards becoming CVPM eligible. Experienced managers from outside of the veterinary industry with either a PHR or SHRM-CP human resources certification are also encouraged to apply. Individuals interested in the position must be compassionate, cheerful, possess strong leadership skills and have a good work ethic.
Responsibilities include day-to-day operations with a major focus on strong human resources & personnel management responsibilities including hiring, training and leading the team. A strong commitment to client service skills is imperative to be successful in this position. Other valuable experience includes strong initiative, enjoyment of a job well done, ability to work independently, knowledge of billing, payroll, accounts receivable, inventory control, and experience holding staff meetings and conducting performance reviews.
Strong leadership, time management and communication skills are a must. Successful applicants must be able to adequately assess the overall performance of the practice, participate in the establishment and achievement of goals, analyze and implement new services, products or procedures, and present data and ideas for improvement to the practice owners.
