Alderbrook Pet Hospital, located in Santa Rosa, CA, is seeking a full-time associate veterinarian to join our full-service general practice that has been serving the community with dedication for 28 years. Alderbrook is owned by Arroyo Veterinary Hospital of Sonoma along with their supportive team of investors and Dr. Melissa Hart.
Since opening its doors in 1990, the Alderbrook team prides itself on providing compassionate care that is gentle, considerate, and knowledgeable. We invest in the time needed to clearly answer all questions and concerns to help put our clients and their animal companions at ease. Every member of our team is committed to providing the finest professional, personal, courteous and caring service possible. Teamwork and appreciation are two of our core values, so if practicing in this kind of environment is what you are looking for then we look forward to welcoming you as part of the Alderbrook family.
Plus, we love our building! Our practice is located in a delightfully restored 1890s home surrounded by well-established neighborhoods creating a truly unique practice environment that is utterly charming.
The hospital is undergoing an operational restructuring with the upcoming retirement of the practice’s founder, Dr. Lee Thorne, and this role offers the opportunity of equity ownership to the right candidate. Our vision is to continue to be a place where people and pets love to come for the most caring and compassionate service in Sonoma County, and your leadership would be at the center of achieving that goal.
As an Associate Veterinarian, you will work with Dr. Hart and the ownership team on both on-going care and long-term decision making regarding medical standards and services. As a potential owning partner in the practice, you will be central to forming the future strategy and direction of the hospital.
The ideal candidate will value the importance of providing essential preventative care while building a bond with our clients that will last for years. You will also have strong critical thinking skills for more complex medical cases that require ongoing and chronic management. In addition, you should have confidence and experience in soft tissue surgery and dentistry, including oral surgical skills. Because the practice has always provided care to birds in addition to dogs and cats, an interest in avian medicine would be a plus, although not required.
In order to attract the right applicant, we are offering the following compensation and benefits:
Opportunity for equity ownership
Pro-Sal structure compensation structure
Payment and support for CA licensing if not currently licensed in the state
Full coverage for your healthcare and dental benefits
Vacation and paid holidays
VIN, AVMA, and CVMA annual dues
Santa Rosa is the largest city in Sonoma County, where vineyards abound, and redwoods grow. This area offers an affordable cost of living, great weather, and many opportunities for a truly enjoyable professional and personal life.
