Are you looking for a change, or are you a new graduate looking to ease into the real world of veterinary medicine? Friendly, family environment, we strive to make things as low stress as possible. Great support staff, caring client care coordinators, whose goal is to schedule appointments with doctors time in mind. Away from work voluntary group activities: BBQ's, bowling pizza parties, charity events, village festivals, parades, birthday parties, you get the picture. Life should be fun. Activities away from work strengthen the bonds and friendships at work. That being said, we are looking for a fulltime associate veterinarian for a well established (over 45 yrs.) three doctor practice conveniently located in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. The area offers plenty of opportunities for entertainment and shopping as well as outdoor sports: biking, hiking, boating and fishing.
We are looking for a friendly, outgoing individual with good communication skills and positive attitude to join our team. Medical experience and good surgical skills are a plus, however, we encourage new graduates to apply, as we will assess the whole package. The doctors and technicians on staff will be more than happy to mentor a recent graduate to acclimate them to the world of veterinary medicine away from veterinary school. Someone who is willing to learn the ropes of professional practice will be met with the mentorship of over 62 cumulative years of veterinary experience. We encourage a team approach to both challenging cases as well as the everyday flow of business.
We serve clients from a tri-county area, focusing on dogs, cats, and some exotics to a limited extent. As a service to our clients, house-calls are also offered M-F in the mornings. This often provides an interesting change of pace and some unforgettable stories. Our associate veterinarians average 33-34 hrs. per week, with ample time off. After hour emergencies are handled by nearby emergency clinics. We believe a good balance of work and personal time is needed for a healthy mind and body.
Our well equipped and newly remodeled hospital operates on Cornerstone Practice Management system. Most medical equipment is new (within the past 2 yrs.), including: digital x-ray, ultrasound, ECG, heated surgical table, LED surgical lights, two new anesthetic machines, Bose sound system for your listening pleasure during surgery, ophthalmoscopes, otoscopes, 2 blood pressure monitors, microscope, centrifuge and patient monitors. We also have a Companion Therapeutic Laser, complete Idexx in-house lab, high speed dental unit and Tonovet tonometer.
At Sutton Road Animal Hospital, we strive to maintain a positive, fun, and supportive work environment, with a dedicated team of associates. Our mission is to provide the highest level of veterinary care and customer service possible, including community outreach activities and education programs for adults and children. We have also, as a team, recently embarked on Fear-Free Certification for all employees.
Compensation package is commensurate with experience. Competitive salary and bonuses, paid vacation and holidays, state license, DEA license, AVMA dues, CVMA dues, continuing education, health, dental and vision insurance, malpractice insurance, life and disability insurance, 401K, professional attire (lab coats and scrubs), and discounted veterinary care are provided.
