Emergency Medicine & Critical Care - Clinical Track Faculty Position

The Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences at Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Emergency Medicine and Critical Care. This position is a Clinical Track appointment with the academic rank of Assistant or Associate Professor level.
The Small Animal Clinical Sciences department faculty include specialists in surgery, internal medicine, cardiology, neurology, dermatology, ophthalmology, oncology, diagnostic imaging, anesthesia, and primary care. The duties of the successful applicant include participation in the teaching, service and scholarly missions of the College. The successful applicant is expected to participate in didactic teaching of veterinary students including instruction within a dynamic and interactive new curriculum, clerkship training in emergency medicine and toxicology, and emergency & critical care electives. The applicant is responsible for triage and primary case management of emergency and ICU patients as well as consultation to clients and referring veterinarians seeking critical care for their animals. In addition, clinical service duties include training of fourth year veterinary students, supervision of house officers on emergency duty, consultation to other primary care services, and leadership of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital Blood Bank and Intensive Care Unit. The remaining effort allocation of the applicant is focused on research and scholarly activity. An interest for teaching and collaborative research is strongly encouraged.
