Carolina Equine Hospital is seeking applicants for an equine intern position. We are seeking a graduated veterinarian who would like to work in a positive team environment while they grow their clinical, technical and communication skills.
Carolina Equine Hospital provides both general and secondary level care to horses in the Piedmont Triad of North Carolina. All doctors in our practice have a strong commitment to the education of our interns. We will provide the new graduate with a wide variety of equine experience in a progressive and positive private practice setting that involves both ambulatory and in-hospital work.
The intern will rotate between doctors pending caseload to ensure exposure to lameness, medical and reproductive cases. Interns are responsible for treatments and monitoring of in-house patients. After an initial introductory period the intern will enter the emergency rotation with other doctors. At this time the intern will receive after hours phone calls and attend to emergencies as needed. A senior veterinarian will be available at all times for assistance. The intern will be on call for no more than 2 nights per week and no more than 2 weekends per month. During the first 3 months of the program, the intern will have a high level of supervision if required or desired. With appropriate progress in case management and client communications, the intern will be given significant independent case management responsibilities.
The internship offers a competitive salary, paid vacation, state licensing fees, CE stipend, AAEP/AVMA/NCVMA dues, and liability and health insurance.
Please submit all inquiries and questions to Dr. Mark Wallace at email@example.com or call our office at (336)349-4080.
