National Veterinary Associates is seeking a Transition Specialist to be responsible for supporting our new acquisition hospitals in their acclimation to NVA. The experience of our newly acquired hospitals is of utmost importance to the company’s overall success. In this role, you will support Veterinarians who are selling or partnering their practice to the NVA family to ensure the current team of associate doctors have a smooth transition to NVA. The position is part of the Transition Team working in cooperation with Accounting, Legal, Transition, and Operations and is a key part of the sales process.
The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, possess a high degree of emotional intelligence and empathy, have an outgoing approachable personality, will be an astute judge of character and problem solver who can collaborate across a large organization to deliver desirable outcomes for individual locations.
**Position may sit remotely but must be willing to travel between 75-80% of the time.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Partner with the Legal team to gather information from sellers and pre-sale documents to develop employment agreements for each Associate Veterinarian.
Travel to meet with the Associate Veterinarians at their hospital right before they join NVA to help the doctors feel comfortable with NVA’s mission and model, so they sign on and feel good about joining NVA.
Learn what the Associate Veterinarian’s short term goals are and what NVA can do to support them to help build a plan for their success post-transition.
Assess and discretely interpret potential concerns with the hospital as issues of note and/or deal breakers. Areas may include culture, HR, leadership, revenue or cost structure, performance, and/or local market challenges.
Flag any concerns with Business Development, Deal Managers and Operations in an appropriate manner.
Advocate and be proactive for the needs of newly acquired hospitals while ensuring customer deliverables are clearly defined and being met in timely, accurate, supportive and service-oriented manner
Work with Transition Support Manager (TSM) on pre-close fact-finding and any outstanding DVM items/questions post-close.
DVM Degree is preferred- Candidates with a DVM degree prioritized
Ability to travel to minimum of 75-80%
Experience and understanding of business, operations, and financials including ability to understand cost impacts at a hospital level
