The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) is seeking a full-time Lasix Veterinarian to join its team.
hold a DVM, VMD, or equivalent degree
a current NY State veterinary license (or eligibility for licensure) and have some equine experience
Familiarity with thoroughbred or standard bred racing and industry protocols is a plus
This position requires working on site at all three NYRA tracks during live race meets:
Saratoga Race Course (A housing stipend is provided for the Saratoga Race Meet)
The Lasix Veterinarians will be responsible for administering Lasix on race days and for drawing blood for pre-race and out of competition drug testing protocols. In addition he/she will help to maintain department files regarding the treatment and testing of horses racing at NYRA.
