Town & Country Animal Hospital, PC has an opening for a full-time doctor in our mixed animal practice in central Pennsylvania. We are seeking an enthusiastic team player. True mixed animal interests and skill set are strongly desired. Our small animal composition is roughly 55% dogs, 40% cats, and 5% pet pigs, small animal exotics, birds, pet poultry and occasionally reptiles. Large animal composition is 65% dairy, 25% beef, 5% small ruminant, and 5% swine/poultry/equine. We have a fully equipped 6000 square foot small animal facility with x-ray, ultrasound, isolation ward, kennel, surgical suite, laboratory, treatment area, and 4 exam rooms. We have a heated garage for farm truck storage, and 2 fully stocked trucks for ambulatory work. Bovine palpation skills are expected, with ultrasound available. We occasionally see small animals for house calls, and large animals at the clinic. Our surgical suite is able to accommodate swine and small ruminants as well. Large animal/farm animal after-hours and weekend on-call are required with this position, and are shared equally between 3 doctors, but no small animal after-hours emergency, as companion animal emergency calls are referred to 2 emergency clinics 30 minutes away. There is also an equine referral center 90 minutes away. The clinical environment is highly cooperative with strong mentorship from senior doctors, technicians and staff. We value work-life balance offering a 4 day work week (10 hours each), 30 minute small animal appointment slots, and no weekend office hours. Competitive mixed medicine salary and benefits.
