Busy racetrack/sport horse practice in sunny Southern California seeking an entry-level associate. This is a unique opportunity to work on world champion racehorses along with other sport horse disciplines in coastal Southern California. On your workdays, you will be treating some of the finest horses in the industry while your time off can be spent at our many beaches, exploring Los Angeles, Orange, and San Diego areas, or any of the other countless things that can be done in constant 70-degree weather.
An associate's responsibilities include a vast range of hands-on opportunities:
Sports medicine: the practice originated as a racetrack practice. Our focal points are lameness and internal medicine.
Diagnostics: Daily use of digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, gastroscopy, shockwave, power dentistry, in-house laboratory (including SAA), stem cell therapy, therapeutic laser, and IRAP therapy.
Involved with a very diverse caseload involving lameness, diagnostics, and treatment including colic workups, IV fluid therapy, and laceration repairs.
The right candidate will be able to acclimate to a fast-paced work environment, has organizational skills as well as the ability to work well/coordinate with the veterinary staff, office staff, and clientele.
Compensation DOE. Eligibility for CA and CHRB licensure required
