Kentucky Equine Hospital is a full-service ambulatory and referral hospital located outside of Louisville KY. We offer a complete range of services to our clients and patients including lameness services (Digital Radiograph, Digital Ultrasonography, Nuclear Scintigraphy, MRI, Shock Wave Therapy, Stem Cell Therapy, IRAP,), Surgery – Dr. Wes Sutter, DACVS/DACVSMR has an active surgical case load of orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries, Video Endoscopy/Gastroscopy, Reproductive services (Mare reproductive services, Embryo Flush/Transfer, Foaling Assistance, Stallion collections for fresh cooled and freezing), Ozone Therapy, routine dentistry, Ophthalmology services (Dr. Erica Tolar, DACVO) and Laboratory Services. Our externship offers a great opportunity for veterinary students to gain knowledge and experience in all fields of equine practice. The externship is considered very hands-on, especially during breeding season. Our externships usually last between 2-4 weeks for the best experience. We are open to shorter or longer stays if our schedule allows. We offer onsite housing for externs. If you are possibly interested in our internship program, scheduling an externship is a great way to get to know the clinic and staff.
