Jennings Veterinarians, Inc. seeks full-time veterinarians for our community practice located in North Vernon, IN. The opportunity exists for two positions for full-time veterinarians in this location.
We are located in the true middle of southeastern Indiana in the city of North Vernon, Jennings County.
North Vernon is a smaller city with easy and reasonable access to Indianapolis, Louisville, and Cincinnati and we serve as a bedroom community for Columbus, Indiana, the home of Cummins Engine Company. This allows nearby access to a truly multinational and multicultural population with many opportunities for shopping, entertainment, cultural activities, and recreation.
North Vernon is home to a stable and growing industrial base as well, including a regional distribution center for Lowes Home Improvement warehouses and several national and international manufacturing companies.
We have local access to multiple parks and recreational opportunities including hiking trails, off-road cycling, climbing facilities, hunting, and fishing. Local groups and activities include community theater, youth sports, church groups, etc. We are located within 30-40 minutes of three state parks and the Ohio River as well for additional recreational activities.
The practice has been in existence since the late 1950s and was incorporated in 1972. Currently, we are located in a purpose-built building constructed in 1994 with several remodels and updates since that time. Five exam rooms, two surgery rooms, and a dedicated radiology room and lab area facilitate our workflow.
The practice is currently three full-time veterinarians with a support staff of eight including RVT. We are busy but work hard to balance work and personal life including a scheduled day off each week, rotation of schedules, vacation, and personal days.
The practice is large enough to provide a very full and diverse caseload yet located in a small enough community that you will see and know your clients in your personal life outside of the practice. We are a mixed practice, very predominantly small or companion animal, with a limited amount of large animal and equine exposure as well as a diverse mix of other species occasionally. We offer preventative and wellness care, primary care of illnesses and disease, primarily soft tissue and limited orthopedic surgery, dental care, and more at the primary care level. The practice is equipped with Idexx in house laboratory including ProCyte, Catalyst, Snapshot, and UA analyzer. Digital radiography (fixed and portable), ultrasound (in-house and portable), laser surgery, cold laser therapy, turnover, Doppler BP. The practice management system is Idexx Cornerstone. We offer a haul-in facility for both bovine and equine services, as well as ambulatory services.
