Since 2001, Rude Ranch Animal Rescue (RRAR; ruderanch.org), a nationally recognized 501(c)3 nonprofit, has been serving the Washington, DC – Annapolis – Baltimore metropolitan area to provide sanctuary and care to abandoned, abused, and special needs animals. In 2012, RRAR opened its high-volume, low-cost spay/neuter clinic, Spay Spa & Neuter Nook (SSNN; spayspa.org), to help reduce animal suffering, overpopulation, and euthanasia. RRAR/SSNN has found adoptive homes for over 5000 animals, facilitated the veterinary care and placement for 10,000 more, established partnerships with over 125 shelters and rescues, performed almost 45,000 spay/neuter surgeries, and prevented the birth of almost 11 million homeless kittens.
RRAR/SSNN has been featured in print or online at TLC, Baltimore Sun, Chicago Tribune, CNN, Huffington Post, New York Daily News, Capital Gazette, and several other local and national media companies; has received funding support from PetSmart Charities, PetCo Foundation, Banfield Foundation, Maryland Department of Agriculture, Humane Society of the United States, and numerous other private organizations and foundations; and, in 2018, was instrumental in passing Anne Arundel County bill 96-17, the Community Cat Bill, which eliminated feral cat euthanasia and supported trap-neuter-return (TNR) in the county.
Not sure RRAR/SSNN is the right place for you? Well, we are - and here’s why. We: (1) adeptly vary veterinarian:support staff ratio from 1:3 to 1:5 depending upon patient levels and surgery types; (2) occupy approximately 5000 square feet, with two large, ergonomically designed surgical suites; (3) improved our surgical areas and intake as per COVID guidelines without sacrificing performance or customer service. No question about it, it is a perfect time to join us!
Concerned about emergency on-call, long week, long hours, and demanding clients? Don’t be. Here, veterinarians are not required to be on-call. We are only open Monday through Thursday. Veterinarians work from 8 am until last surgery, which is usually around 2:30pm. The clinic does not require veterinarians to correspond with clients. And, your choice of commitment: full- or part-time.
Like what you’ve heard so far? Well, we have sooo much more to share with you. If you are interested, apply now so we can tell you about more of our great work, get to know you better, and see if everything jibes!
