Patient & Medical Care:
Thoroughly examine, diagnose, and prescribe treatments for all patients based on best practices and your medical expertise.
Utilize technology, memberships, and medical resources to answer questions and solve problems.
Perform surgery, including spay/neuter.
Perform dental exams and cleanings.
Administer vaccinations based on need, prevention, and best practices.
Administer controlled drugs and sign-off on all prescriptions, following federal and local compliance laws.
Supervise technicians (local laws apply).
Guide technicians in radiology and review radiographs. Utilize consultants as needed.
Authorize medical decisions for the support team and approve medical notes.
Continue to learn new procedures and best practices.
Safety & Team Care:
Understand and maintain all hospital safety and compliance policies and procedures.
Hold the team accountable to maintain a safe work environment and practice safe care.
Read all patient alerts prior to handling a patient.
Ask clients for their permission prior to touching any pets.
Communicate clearly, professionally, and kindly with every client, team member, and vendor.
Support your entire team with a positive attitude and willingness to help, especially on stressful or busy days. Recognize that everyone is busy and prioritize the most urgent client, patient, and team member needs.
Encourage and maintain paperless systems and processes.
Check to make sure all memos are seen and understood by the recipient.
Communicate when inventory is low with your inventory manager.
Cultivate a safe, fun, and happy work environment by upholding our core values and adhering to company policies.
Take advantage of opportunities to learn through assisting the team.
Conduct all conversations and actions in a professional manner that adheres to Total Veterinary Care’s core values.
Coach and mentor technicians, assistants, and receptionists.

Document and share team members concerns with your Practice Manager.
Collaborate with your Chief of Staff, Chief Medical Officer, and other doctors to develop your hospital and TVC as a whole
Request approval for medical and hospital decisions, including financial, with your Chief of Staff.
Constant movement such as: sitting, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, holding, scrubbing, pushing, and squatting.
Computer use, screen time, and typing.
Tasks requiring a steady hand and keen eyesight.
Lifting weight of 50 lbs (with help).
Restraining dogs and cats of all sizes and strengths.
Cleaning with powerful chemical solutions.
Potential exposure to zoonotic diseases and radiology.
Prioritizing patients, clients, team members, and tasks based on need.
Keeping track of patients and exam times.
Making decisions based on best practices and company policies.
Keeping track of controlled drugs.
Calculating estimates and payment for clients quickly and accurately.
Troubleshooting software, computers, printers, and lab equipment.
