Medical Director and Associate Positions
Hearts Alive Village
Are you tired of having to turn sick or injured animals away, or worse, having to euthanize them because their owners can’t afford treatment? Hearts Alive Village is a Las Vegas based animal rescue fed up with the lack of options for pet parents and they are currently adding a Medical Director and Associate Veterinarians to their staff. The rescue opened the first affordable, full-service nonprofit veterinary clinic in the state of Nevada last year and is looking to expand their team. This clinic exists to serve the needs of ALL pets, removing the term “economic euthanasia” from our lexicon and providing options for pet parents struggling to care for their animals. The clinic is part of an initiative to keep pets in their original homes whenever possible. To do this, the rescue operates a pet food bank, community outreach programs like monthly spay and neuter and vaccine clinics, and Veteran support programs in addition to their rescue and rehome programs. The veterinary clinic is the latest addition and the fully equipped hospital provides preventative care, dental surgeries, treatment for sick and injured pets and high-volume, high-quality spay/neuter surgeries. This position is a vital part of our team, working closely with the executive director, shelter and clinic staff. We provide continuing education funds, licensing expenses, PLIT, paid time off and other benefits including health insurance. Salary, working hours and relocation reimbursement are all based on your experience and needs and are negotiable. We value all our team members and work to ensure a high quality of life and to enable a great work/life balance for each member. We will listen to your needs and work to build a job description to match those needs. If you got into veterinary medicine to heal and to serve, and feel unable to do so in a traditional veterinary clinic, we need to meet you. Together, we can revolutionize the way animals receive treatment, improving the lives of people and pets in Las Vegas. Las Vegas is a growing, vibrant city. One of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, Las Vegas has many of the benefits of living in a much larger city: sports, arts, entertainment, easy travel connections, and low cost of living; without the drawbacks: excessive traffic, high house prices, crowed infrastructure. The cost of living is relatively low compared to East Coast states or California and there is no state income tax. Southern Nevada is an area of stunning natural beauty with Lake Mead, Red Rock State Park, The Grand Canyon, Death Valley, Mount Charleston all within a short drive. Popular outdoor activities include skiing, snowboarding, hiking, climbing, boating, waterskiing, and mountain biking. If you believe that every animal should have a chance at a happy, healthy life, please email your CV and any relevant info to Rick DuCharme, email address is DuCharmeRick2019@gmail.com or call my cell phone anytime it is convenient for you, 904-728-3675
