A letter from Dr. Castro to all the new graduates looking to start your new career as a Veterinarian.
Congratulations! You have achieved a big milestone. It was a hard and long 7 years of efforts and restrictions, but now your perseverance will pay off.
There are a few things you have to consider before jumping into the work marketplace:
The starting base salary is almost the same across cities, and now more than ever, salaries are an appropriate compensation for your efforts and your position.
In my opinion, you will not get ahead of the game by working for a big corporation or applying for an internship. Research this. You, on the other hand, will get ahead of the game by acquiring new skills that will make you more productive, since production base salary will require a paramount of know how.
I am offering a position for someone with excellent leadership skills, and a desire for personal growth. The base salary is $120,000 a year, 40 hours a week, Saturdays and Sundays off. I will share knowledge and my personal veterinary experience with you. This position is production based. In other words, your base salary plus production. See you soon!
