Mid Year Internship at WVRC - begining February 1, 2022
WVRC is accepting applications for our 2022 mid-year internship. WVRC is a three-hospital member of the Ethos network of specialty & referral practices and services the greater Milwaukee and southeastern Wisconsin region with locations in Waukesha, Grafton, and Racine/Kenosha. Our Waukesha facility is both a VECCS Certified Level 1 hospital and a recognized ACVECC provisional trauma center. Services at WVRC include 24/7 ER, critical care, surgery, internal medicine, neurology, ophthalmology, dentistry, oncology, anesthesiology, cardiology, and dermatology. A ZRL reference laboratory is located within the Waukesha building, and we are also equipped with a complete in-house lab for point of care & after-hours results, digital radiology, cage side ultrasound, telemetry, respiratory ventilator and high flow nasal oxygen, MRI & CT. Our team of ER focused and rotating interns receive a 1 year, clinically based training program in emergency/critical care medicine, emergency surgery, advanced diagnostics, and client communication as well as rotations with specialty services. Highlights of our internships: - Primary case responsibility - Onsite 24 hour mentorship - Training with specialists - Training to be primary surgeons in general emergency surgery including- GDV, foreign body removal, intestinal resection & anastomosis, splenectomy, pyometra, C-section, minor surgical procedures.

This internship begins February 1, 2022, and is supported by both rotating and ER focused interns obtained through the match. The mid-year intern will have the support of 6 other interns with 7 months of training. The mid-year intern returns the mentorship to the next class of interns who start in June, 2022.
WVRC sees a strong and diverse caseload, using an exceptional team of employees, and we are well known for our focus on providing excellent care and client service. Our interns become an integral part the team. The program can prepare interns for careers in emergency medicine, residency programs, specialty internships or strong general practice. We are looking for interns who have a passion for high quality, clinically based learning with a large, varied caseload, and possess strong communication skills. Most of our interns have recently graduated and are licensed graduates from AVMA accredited schools. We can accept those eligible for a TN visa, but unfortunately, we do not offer full visa sponsorships

CE benefits include online RECOVER CPR courses provided to each intern who has not previously completed the courses and a $500 CE allowance.
