The Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences at Oklahoma State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine seeks two clinical track or tenure track faculty positions in Veterinary Anesthesiology and Pain Management.

These are full-time positions with an excellent benefits package, including a generous sign-on bonus, 4 weeks of vacation, start-up funding for clinical equipment or research endeavors as well as office electronics. Funding support for conference (continuing education) travel is provided.  Ability to do up to 4 weeks of consultation work outside our referral area is also included. Professional rank and salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

The Anesthesiology Service is well equipped and provides service for a diverse and growing caseload of companion animal, exotic, equine and farm animal patients. Well-trained, dedicated veterinary technicians support the key role of the service within the hospital.

The positions offer opportunities to develop innovative teaching programs in the classroom and clinical setting as well as participation in collaborative research/scholarship activities if desired.  Development of an internship or residency program will be highly supported.

Duties include: clinical service in the small and large animal sections of the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital and participation in after-hour calls; clinical instruction and performance evaluation of students, interns and residents; didactic lectures, laboratory instruction and evaluation of veterinary students; supporting technicians seeking anesthesia certification; outreach activity for referring veterinarians and the general public; participation in academic affairs and administrative duties and developing or participating in collaborative research/scholarship activities.

Applicants must possess a DVM degree or equivalent. Board certification by the America College of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia or European College of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia is highly desirable. However, individuals who have completed a residency training and are board-eligible will be considered. Applicants in possession of a non-AVMA accredited DVM degree will be able to obtain a faculty license form the Oklahoma Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners.
