Glenwood Veterinary Clinic in Glenwood Springs, CO is currently seeking an associate small animal veterinarian.
Glenwood Veterinary Clinic is the only locally-owned and only mixed animal practice (with no plans to go corporate!) that has provided veterinary services to the Roaring Fork Valley and Western Slope of Colorado since 1936. We currently have 5 veterinarians running a full service hospital. We see clients throughout Western Colorado, as well as parts of Utah and Wyoming. Glenwood Springs is a cozy mountain town located near Interstate 70, and is equidistant from Vail, Beaver Creek, and Aspen ski resorts, nestled at the confluence of the Roaring Fork and Colorado rivers.
As the population in Colorado continues to grow, we are looking to provide more of the high-quality medicine already offered to the residents of our area. In addition to seeing regular appointments, we provide urgent care appointments, accommodate walk-ins as we are able, and regularly work with a traveling small animal surgeon, giving us the ability to keep certain referrals in-house. We provide small animal ambulatory care, including at-home euthanasia. We also collaborate with other practices in the area, and have multiple local mentors we can call on or have visit when we are seeking guidance. New graduates seeking mentorship are welcomed!
Built on tradition, but always looking toward the future, we see an equal mix of dogs and cats, some exotics and pocket pets, horses, livestock, and even a bird once in a blue moon. You have the flexibility to see the species of your choosing! We see a wide variety of cases, including routine care, medicine work-ups, and surgeries, including both soft tissue and orthopedics. Each doctor has at least one technician as well as a floating veterinary assistant each day.
Tools we have available are: digital radiography (including dental radiography), multiple ultrasounds, in-house bloodwork (CBC, chemistry+ electrolytes, clotting times, cortisol, T4, progesterone), oxygen cage, Tonovet, same-day pathologist-reviewed cytology, and regenerative medicine, including shockwave, prostride and PRP. Our cloud-based software allows the ability to access and complete records away from the practice. We meet as a doctor team each morning to discuss cases and current research, as well as taking an opportunity to check in with each other regarding goals, mental health, etc. We are looking for a small animal veterinarian who desires to grow themselves and in turn grow a practice.
