We seek an Associate Veterinarian and/or a Principal Veterinarian to support or lead the practice based on prior experience.

Key Accountabilities
Provide consistent, high-quality care and exceptional service to ensure the well-being of the hospital environment, medical quality, and business performance of the hospital
Be an effective communicator with the veterinary team, management, and clients.
Practice veterinary medicine in a manner compliant with the State Veterinary Practice Act, Federal and/or State Controlled Substance laws, and WellHaven Code of Ethics, along with appropriate medical record documentation
Ensure complete medical records that meet practice quality control guidelines
Demonstrate integrity and ethics in all actions and behaviors
Communicate fully with clients, including in-person, via phone, and via emails as needed
Proficient in anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, and current medical practices
Advocate for exceptional client service and patient wellbeing
Adhere to OSHA standards and regulations as outlined by WellHaven Pet Heath company policies
Aid in building an effective veterinary team and be an enthusiastic team member
Deliver medical training to support staff
Willing and flexible to lead/manage hospital and support staff as needed
Perform other job duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
State Veterinary Board License current and must be in good standing
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine or equivalent
Current USDA Accreditation
DEA License in good standing
Preferred Qualifications
Proficient in surgery, anesthesia, dentistry and dental x-rays, and current medical practices
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
Properly restrain, handle and work well with patients (i.e., dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, etc.)
The position may require more than 40 hours per week to complete essential duties of this job to meet client needs and work volume.
Able to adapt and work well in an environment where the noise level is moderately high
Able to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
Solve problems involving several variables
Able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb
Have good hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity with the ability to reach and grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment, and read information
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Employees are routinely exposed to patients that bite or scratch and occasionally to anesthesia, radiation, biological hazards, and medication/controlled substances.
