We are looking for a veterinarian that can maintain companion animal care by diagnosing and treating patient conditions, sustaining an enthusiastic hospital environment, and excelling in client education and service. Our hospitals strive to practice high quality and current medicine in all aspects of the general veterinary practitioner sector. These aspects include urgent care appointments, emergency medicine, surgery, internal medicine, radiography, ultrasonography, dermatology, palliative care, etc. Our veterinarians provide leadership and effective communication when working with team members. Northwest Arkansas Animal Urgent Care is seeking veterinarians of any experience level to apply for this position. We have a 90-day new DVM graduate orientation program that will allow for new graduates to transition into our work environments with assigned mentors and guidance. REQUIREMENTS
Medical
Possess a broad base of knowledge and skills requisite for the practice of veterinary medicine in order to treat sick or injured animals by prescribing medication, setting bones, dressing wounds, or performing surgery.
Ability to function in a variety of clinical situations and to render a wide spectrum of patient care.
Scientific knowledge accompanied by possessing an intellectual, professional, and ethical attitude. Moral principles are essential for our veterinarians.
Examine animals to detect and determine the nature of diseases or injuries.
Treat sick or injured animals by prescribing medication, setting bones, dressing wounds, performing surgery, or other therapies.
Inoculate animals against various diseases.
Collect body tissue, feces, blood, urine, or other body fluids for examination and analysis.
Perform laboratory procedures and diagnostic tests, including parasitology, hematology and urinalysis.
Operate diagnostic equipment, such as radiographic and ultrasound equipment, and interpret the resulting images.
Administer anesthetics, perform surgery, and monitor patients during surgery and recovery with the assistance of the technical team.
Humanely euthanize animals when it has been mutually agreed upon by the patient’s owner.
Personnel
Promote a healthy work environment through strong leadership skills and positive interactions.
Train and supervise team members who handle and care for animals on an as needed basis.
Interact with clients and team members in a manner that shows sensitivity, tact and professionalism.
Provide guidance and leadership to the team to positively influence the level of care for to pets and client service.
Clerical
Document actions by completing forms, reports, logs and patient records.
Customer Service
Answer client questions and provide education on various aspects of animal care and treatment. Advise animal owners regarding sanitary measures, feeding, and general care necessary to promote health of their pets.
Educate the public about diseases that can be spread from animals to humans.
Call back/follow-up with clients; recommend medical progress visits when appropriate.
Veterinary Policies/Procedures
Follow discharge guidelines for hospitalized and post-surgery patients. Follow treatment plan guidelines for clients to ensure proper home care for their pets.
Participate in business development as needed.
Attend monthly team meetings, doctor meetings, and pertinent in-house training.

Education and Licenses:
Valid and in good standing licensed veterinarian with the state of Arkansas
