TL;DR: EMUVC is seeking a second veterinarian with a strong interest in emergency medicine. Come enjoy the best of veterinary medicine in a supportive, small-town environment!
ABOUT THE CLINIC:
EMUVC opened in April 2022 to serve the beautiful Southern Tier of Western NY. The practice was handcrafted by Dr. Katie Gies and informed by her 17 years of experience working in emergency medicine. EMUVC was designed with technology in mind and uses Instinct Practice Management Software and handsfree phones with an emphasis on texting. Additional technology includes new digital radiography, a new Sonoscape S8 ultrasound and full Idexx in-house lab. The clinic currently employs 3 full-time LVTs along with other support staff. Dr. Gies is the owner and sole practitioner. We are currently open Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 10am-8pm but would expand hours with an additional veterinarian.
ABOUT THE WORK:
Urgent care takes all the best parts of emergency medicine and makes them into your daily job! The clinic functions on a walk-in basis and we see everything from minor issues such as a broken nail or urgently-needed vaccination to severe trauma and occasional major surgery. There is no overnight hospitalization at EMUVC, so severe cases are stabilized and referred to 24-hour hospitals. EMUVC fills a desperate need in the community and we draw cases from 2 hours away on a regular basis. Dr. Gies lives only 2 blocks from the clinic and will be as hands-on as needed to mentor a new graduate in all aspects of medicine and surgery as well as being intimately involved with the day-to-day running of the clinic. Compensation and benefits will be tailored to meet YOUR needs but will include:
- Generous salary or ProSal if preferred (let's talk about what works best for you!)
- 100% paid health insurance for the DVM
- PTO and paid CE days
- CE stipend
- Licensing and dues (NYSVMS, AVMA, PLIT, DEA, VECCS)
- You know, all the normal things. Everything is negotiable - bring your weird requests!
