Veterinary Medical Director Description
Furdunkin is looking for a Medical Director to add to their busy practice in Pennsylvania. Our client seeks an animal advocate and visionary, passionate about making a difference in a non-corporate environment where pets are a priority over profit. You will be responsible for providing personalized patient care, mentoring a team of 4-5 DVMs, and establishing best practices. The ideal candidate will have strong surgical skills and will be very collaborative. To be successful, you must enjoy teaching more junior Veterinarians, give constructive and supportive feedback, and stay on top of the latest treatment options in the industry. Veterinary Medical Director Responsibilities
• Treat sick or injured animals while providing a quality care experience • Manage difficult or sensitive client conversations with compassion and professionalism • Restore pet health by treating animals surgically or medically • Mentor 4-5 DVMs and customize training based on skillset and needs • Provide support with case management • Support DMVs with client appointments and surgeries as needed • Conduct performance reviews • Spearhead case studies • Establish best practices for patient care • Ensure compliance with veterinary procedures, ethics, and policies • Complete the required patient documentation and paperwork • Reporting communicable diseases to public health officials
Veterinary Medical Director Requirements
• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree & license in good standing is required • 7+ years of experience as a DVM is required • Surgical experience is required
