Loyalsock Animal Hospital is a full-service small animal and exotics practice in northcentral Pennsylvania seeking to add two veterinary technicians to our team. We are a privately owned practice with seven full-time veterinarians, each with their own special interests. Our services include:
· Chiropractic care
· In-house laboratory diagnostics
· Internal medicine
· Laser therapy
· Orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries
Our facility contains six exam rooms, a dual surgical suite, and a newly renovated dental and ultrasound suite, with digital dental radiography and advanced multiparameter monitors. We also feature a Feline Center adjacent to our main building. This is an inviting, relaxed, and dog-free atmosphere for feline exams and boarding.
We have a team-based approach to practicing veterinary medicine, where all members collaborate to offer our patients the most comprehensive medical care possible. We encourage our staff members to pursue areas of interest and to continue elevating their skills. In our hospital, veterinary technicians focus primarily on direct patient care, via medical and surgical nursing responsibilities. Our technicians are not required to participate in exam room visits or to complete receptionist duties. Additionally, our veterinary assistants provide the support needed to keep our veterinary technicians in their nursing roles. Skills and duties performed by veterinary technicians include:
· Pre-anesthetic examinations
· Administering and monitoring injectable and inhalant anesthesia
· Peripheral IV catheter placement and fluid therapy
An ideal candidate must have a positive attitude, excellent work ethic, and a willingness to work closely with others as a team. They must have completed an AVMA accredited veterinary technician program and passed the Veterinary Technician National Exam (VTNE) (preferred). A dedication to the compassionate care of our companion pets, as well as a demonstrated respect for their teammates and our clients is a must.
We offer competitive wages and an excellent benefits package, including 100% paid medical, dental and vision insurance for individual full-time employees. Additionally, we offer a 401K plan with company contributions, uniform allowance, professional development assistance, certification renewal coverage, paid vacations, holidays, and personal time, as well as discounted products and services.
We emphasize the importance of good work-life balance by maintaining regular scheduling, guaranteed breaks, and hospital-sponsored events. Our flexible scheduling allows for either 8- or 10- hours shifts, with one Saturday or Sunday shift per month. A weekend shift consists of either Saturday morning appointments/evening treatments or Sunday morning/evening treatments, with possible daytime emergency visits. All overnight calls are directed to a local emergency clinic. Full lunch breaks are guaranteed. We routinely find reasons to celebrate, such as our First Day of Summer Italian Ice Party, our Vet Tech Week events (including veterinary bingo) or just because it's a Friday!
Come join our team. We understand the demands of this profession and value our employees.
