Veterinary Emergency Center of Canton is a state-of-the-art hospital located in Canton, CT, just outside of Hartford. Our hospital has private exam rooms, a large treatment area, an ultrasound/radiology room, a beautiful surgery suite and an in-house laboratory and pharmacy. The hospital is open 7 days per week from 8am-12am Monday-Friday and 8am-8pm on Saturday and Sunday. We have 24-hour nursing care for our inpatients 7 days a week including holidays.
Canton is located just outside of the Greater Hartford, Connecticut area and has easy access to everything a big city has to offer. We are located halfway between New York City and Boston. Emergency Veterinarian
Veterinary Emergency Center of Canton in Canton, CT
$160,000-$210,000 base salary (based on experience and schedule accepted) + production

WHAT YOU’LL DO
Examine and diagnose diseases and injuries of pets (primarily dogs and cats), and treat surgically or medically
Collaborate within our veterinary ecosystem, and communicate with referring veterinarians
Participate in ongoing education, seminars, and training to stay at the top of your field
Advise animal owners about best care options and treatment paths

REQUIREMENTS
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree
2+ years of experience practicing veterinary medicine in a Veterinary Hospital setting is preferred
Internship training is also preferred but not required
Ability to attain CT Veterinary License
Excel in managing time, prioritizing tasks, and thriving in a fast-paced environment
Teamwork and interpersonal skills to work in cooperative and close fashion within critical care environment, and effectively communicate with clients and rDVMs
Ability to teach complex medical procedures and impart medical knowledge to different skill levels of staff (i.e., staff DVMs, interns, technicians, and technician assistants)
