Salary re-evaluated at 6 months based on production but will never drop below starting salary. CE paid with $2500 per renewal cycle, with additional allowance for specialty training. This position is for a small animal veterinary associate. There is the opportunity to branch out into large animal medicine if interested but it is not required. We have a 4 day work week for both doctors and technicians. There is no after hours on call, with 3 emergency hospitals within a 45 min drive. Each doctor has one surgery day that typically start and end with surgery patients. The surgery doctor is expected see sick patient drop-off appointments in between surgery with back-up from doctors on scheduled appointments. The other 3 days are spent in scheduled appointments. The schedule is a majority of healthy pets with sick pet visits interspersed. We do reserve several "same day" appointments for the unexpected calls. Morning appointments run from 8:20 a.m. to 12:40 p.m. Afternoon appointments start at 2 p.m. and run until 5 p.m. Each doctor does take evening appointments on one day of the week, which extend to 6:30 p.m. We really strive to work as a team and respect each other, as we all bring a piece to the table allowing us to care for pets each and every day. Experience is preferred but not required. Mentoring provided and encouraged for new grads. We like our vets to gain knowledge, learn new procedures and we want to help them grow their skill set.
Small animal veterinarian with good communication skills. Surgical skills required, with mentorship for new grads. We perform routine surgeries such as neuters, gastropexies, and dental procedures. We have fully equipped hospital with new Dentalaire x-ray and dental unit. X-ray recently updated to brand new digital Vet-Ray machine. Idexx in-house diagnostic equipment with cytology analyzer by the end of the year. We like a team approach to cases, with the primary clinican as the lead. We really strive for a team approach in our hospital with great supportive staff!

Walpole is on the banks of the Connecticut with 5 minute access to I-91. Only 2 hours from the coast and Boston, MA and only 3 hours from Portland, ME, a weekend away of entertainment... is but a short drive. We also have local trails for hiking, trail running or mountain biking, with some of the best biking in New England within a 2 hour drive. The winter also provides a plethora of outdoor activities both local and in the mountains as we are located between the Green and White Mountains.
