Charleston Animal Society is South Carolina’s largest animal rescue. Every day we combat cruelty by using innovative, scientifically-based strategies including a large-scale spay/neuter program, a free roaming cat initiative, educational outreach programs that teach our children to be humanitarians and a food bank for pets. We also work with police, prosecutors and lawmakers to make sure animal cruelty laws are enforced and made stronger.
Reaching our goal of maintaining a No Kill community involves a 10-point strategy that we have already been following since 2008, under the guidance of the ASPCA. It includes our massive spay/neuter clinic, our free roaming cat initiative and a dedicated medical fund (Toby’s Fund) to treat our most critical cases.
