We are seeking an exceptional Veterinary Associate to join our mission.
When you join us at our base, you will be working for an independent veterinary clinic that doesn’t report to a corporate overlord. You will have control over how you practice medicine. You will be able to meet clients where they are instead of being expected to enact a treatment plan that best feeds money to far distant upper management. You will be part of an organization that values you as a person versus a replaceable clone in the revenue generator.
We provide veterinary care for the animals of Vashon while supporting and engaging their human sidekicks. We provide veterinary care for our local island animal rescue organizations. We care for injured wildlife. The foundation of our success is we care for our team as well, supporting a life where work is a manageable portion of the whole.
The majority of our patients are dogs and cats, but we are a mixed animal practice and we will see anything *except horses. We will help you become proficient in treating any species you don’t feel confident with. And if you wish to stick with dogs and cats only, we can work with that.
Our Mission:
Compassionate care for the creatures and clients of Vashon Island and the surrounding galaxy.
Our Work:
Veterinary care that focuses on the requirements of our patients while taking into consideration the needs of our clients and team. Listening to, and really hearing, our clients and our teammates.
Our Impact:
Thriving, vibrant, and comfortable animals. Clients who value us for our expertise and compassion. Rescue groups that can provide animal-specific/custom care for each fostered animal. A healthy team that works well together. A community that values our work, as we value the community that we are part of.
The Details:
Fair Isle has the usual specs you would want, including electronic medical records, digital radiography, ultrasound, therapeutic laser, in-house lab suite, licensed technicians and experienced support staff. We have a solid compensation, benefits, and CE package. Our regular work schedule is 3 days per week, but can be scaled up if an associate needs to have a higher salary.
Fair Isle also has a strong mentorship program. Begin your career as you mean to go on, with a great foundation gained from personal attention that guides you through the early days of your veterinary adventure.
To join our mission, please send us your cover letter and CV. We look forward to meeting you.
PS: There’s no state income tax in Washington State, so you’ll keep more of your pay check every month!
Vashon Island itself is a uniquely amazing place to live. We have beautiful shoreline and access to water-based activities, as well as hiking, biking, and riding trails. It is rural yet close to cities and an international airport. Vashon has a fantastic school system and is a wonderful place for families. Vashon’s community is tightly knit and inclusive. Plus you can't beat the average commute time of 5 to 15 minutes from home to work, not to mention there's no real traffic.
*Opportunities exist for experienced practitioners to build up our Equine &/or Acupuncture services. These are services we have provided in the past but do not currently provide.
