South Fork Vet Clinic in beautiful South Fork, CO is hiring! We are seeking a full-time, dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Nurse to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to veterinarians in the care and treatment of animals. The ideal candidate must have at least 1 year of clinical veterinary experience in a small animal hospital OR have recently graduated from an accredited veterinary nursing program. Competitive pay of $19-23 an hour based on experience, plus vet care and pet food discounts. Our staff is kind to one another and puts patient care FIRST. Veterinary nursing is a physical position: you must be able to lift 50 lb, kneel, squat, sit on the floor & get up unassisted. - At least 1 year of clinical veterinary experience in a small animal hospital OR have recently graduated from an accredited veterinary nursing program.
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and physiology
- Experience with animal handling and restraint techniques
- Ability to perform dog and cat phlebotomy, IV catheterization, and induce anesthesia
- Experience in laboratory settings, including sample collection
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners and team members
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently
- A passion for animal welfare and commitment to providing high-quality care
- Familiarity with dental terminology and procedures is a plus
