								<description>Faulkton, South Dakota,  Animal Health Center is seeking to hire a full-time associate veterinarian! Our mixed animal practice consists of 75% cow/calf/backgrounding feedlot and 25% small animal. Our practice consists of two locations, Faulkton and Redfield, SD. We are in north central SD in cow/calf and farming communities. The area provides ample outdoor recreational activities such as pheasant and deer hunting, walleye fishing and boating on the Missouri river, golfing, as well as two thriving agricultural related communities. We currently staff 2 veterinarians and 5 &#xbd; support staff members. We are a family-oriented business that emphasizes preventive medicine, herd health and nutrition, and open communication with our clientele. We provide routine small animal medical care, soft tissue surgery, dentistry, and emergency services. Our practice is equipped with portable hydraulic chutes, hydraulic tip chutes, haul in facilities, portable corrals, ultrasound, equine stocks, CR X-ray, ultrasonic dental, gas anesthesia, and serum chemistry. We are interested in mentoring a new graduate or an experienced veterinarian that is motivated, hardworking, well rounded, has excellent communication skills and is interested in practicing high quality progressive mixed animal medicine. Interests in other fields are also welcomed as there are additional opportunities for growth in areas beyond our already growing cattle and small animal business. After hour/emergency calls will be split among veterinarians.  Job Summary: 
 We are looking for 1-2 full-time or part-time Veterinarians to join our team due to upcoming retirements. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with a diverse range of animals and possess strong clinical skills. The caseload breakdown is approximately 50% small animal, 25% equine, and 25% beef/dairy/small ruminants. Large animal work is seasonal, with increased activity in the spring and fall. 
 Responsibilities: 
 
 Provide comprehensive veterinary care to a variety of animals, including small animals, horses, and livestock.&#xa0;&#xa0; 
 Perform routine examinations, vaccinations, and surgeries. 
 Diagnose and treat medical conditions. 
 Conduct herd health visits and provide preventative care recommendations. 
 Perform obstetrical work and pregnancy diagnoses. 
 Manage emergencies and provide after-hours care on a rotating basis. 
 Communicate effectively with clients, providing education and support. 
 Maintain accurate medical records. 
 Participate in practice growth initiatives and community outreach programs, including rabies clinics and coggins clinics. 
 Participation in an after-hours call rotation.&#xa0;&#xa0; 
 
 Qualifications: 
 
 Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited institution. 
 Licensure to practice veterinary medicine in Minnesota (or ability to obtain licensure).&#xa0;&#xa0; 
 Experience in mixed animal practice preferred, but not necessary. New graduates with a strong interest in mixed animal medicine are encouraged to apply. 
 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
 Ability to work independently and as part of a team.&#xa0;
