The Veterinary Student Internship in Wildlife Rehabilitation Medicine is intended for veterinary students who have completed their 1st or 2nd year of veterinary school and have a desire to learn more about the field of wildlife rehabilitation medicine.
The goal of this 12-week summer (May through August) internship is to provide the student with a unique, intense hands-on experience in wildlife medicine, husbandry and rehabilitation techniques. The student will spend time rotating through all care areas of the WRC to obtain the most well-rounded experience possible (animal care crew, seasonal nurseries, etc).
Rabies vaccination and a current titer are required. For more details and instructions on how to apply, please email us.
The Wildlife Rehabilitation Center of Minnesota (WRC) is the busiest wild animal hospital in the world, admitting 21,000 patients annually. WRC's mission is to release these animals back into the wild. WRC is a non-profit organization that relies greatly on the efforts of volunteers and interns during the busy summer months. Our opportunities provide hands-on experience working with wildlife.
