Parker Veterinary Clinic of Parker, SD has plenty of work for two associates. We have a 55% large animal and 45% small animal breakdown. The large animal has a big portion of beef cow/calf activity but a dairy associate could stay comfortably busy with the three larger dairies (700 – 7000 cows) that we service. We have ultrasound units for reproductive work. We have a corral under roof for haul-in work. The hydraulic chute and alley way are inside. Also, inside is a hydraulic tilt table for feet and leg work. There is in addition a portable hydraulic chute for taking to the farm when needed. Many of the beef clients have their own working facilities. The small animal work consists mostly of dogs and cats. We do spays, neuters, declaws, amputations, “c” sections, bladder stone removals and various other kinds of surgeries. We have an Idexx blood chemistry machine, and an Heska hematology machine. We also have a DR wizard digital x ray machine. There are a small number of sheep, goats, horses and chickens. It truly is a mixed animal practice. We have a nice group of young farmers in our area. The practice is located 30 miles from Sioux Falls. The small animal component could be expanded greatly. Honesty and integrity and a healthy respect for the clients have been integral in building this practice. Relationships have been built and valued from both sides. This would be a perfect place for a husband/wife team or a dairy associate and a small animal associate. It could even support a beef practitioner with the others. Parker Veterinary Clinic of Parker, SD is seeking to hire a new associate. We are a two man practice looking to hire a third veterinarian. The practice is about 65 % Large Animal and then about 35% small animal. The large animal is predominantly beef cow/calf but we are working for a few large dairies. There are some sheep and a growing presence of goats along with some camelids and horses. The small animals are mostly dogs and cats. We have a haul-in facility for cattle that includes a corral under roof and a working area inside with a hydraulic chute and hydraulic tilt table. We have ultrasound units for reproductive work. The lab has hematology and blood chemistry machines. We also have a portable x ray machine. We do most routine small animal surgeries and treatments. Our clients are important to us and any new veterinarian must be willing to communicate with them with honesty and integrity. Parker is located 25-30 miles southwest of Sioux Falls. There are plenty of hunting, fishing and other out-door recreational opportunities available. A new graduate will receive as much mentoring as needed.
